New appliances and storage bins!

January is the year of starting fresh. For most that means changing something in the house. Storage, or kitchen, or new washer and dryer. There are lots of great sales as January is a slow season.

Over the last week there have been some great deals! Sears.ca has some good discounts on washers and dryers, fridges, stoves, and dishwashers. Home Depot has a great 10% off the lowest price (including clearance) for there appliances. I was just given a gift of a potable dish washer and told to shop arround. I got a great deal at Home Depot and even got a discount on the delivery fee (got 50% off!)

While I was there I noticed some great deals! Storage totes for the garage (the more heavy duty ones) were on at a great price (9-12$) and smaller ones for inside the house arround the same size as rubber made for just under $4!  Perfect for kids to fill up with toys they are not playing with to pull out and change in 2-3 months! They had smaller ones perfect for doll accessories and other small toys for under $1! Cheaper then the dollar store and better quality!

I hope you all had a good New Years and I hope you can all be Deal Divas with me!

Gift closet?

A great thing to start after Christmas is a gift closet. What is a gift closet? It's a closest or bin or area where you store gifts you get on sale for when your kid is invited to a birthday party, have an event coming up, or last min invite from you co worker to there child party.

Best thing is to grab toys on clearance, on sale, or a buy one get one free sale. Toss them in throught the year and then you are set!

Right now Build-A-Bear has a great deal! Select animals have been $15 up till tonight! And 2 for $15 outfits! *select outfits!

Build-A-Bear is amazing because you can buy a bear UN STUFFEF! You give the child the un stuffed bear then they can go to the store, have the joy of stuffing the bear, and get to do the heart ceremony! You can even order bears online and in the notes section ask that the bear be unstuffed!

This last year I bought items on sale, with my $10 off gift codes from there point program. Do sign up for the point program. It adds up fast, and you get notice of sales and what stuffies are coming out before they hit the stores!

Currently the small 5 inch angry birds and pigs are on for $9, they come stuffed. There are other basic bears (and one dog I see) for $12! And loads of the other bears on for $15 that run usually up to $20!

Hope your having a great day!

Boxing week deals!

Since I have been stuck at home with an injured knee I have been doing my boxing week deals online. I have found a few good things in stores and will post them here.

First deal I found was at the drug store while waiting for my prescription for my knee. Shoppers Drug Mart! I was hobbling around on my crutches when I noticed all the toys leftover from Christmas were marked down from 50% off and more! I got the kids father to pick  up furby party rockers for $10 each! My oldest daughter got a furby boom and the other two had been stealing it. Furby party rockers is a tiny version of the Furby but it interacts with other furbys and works with an app.
They also had loads of other toys at great prices! Crayola, TMNT, dolls, cake pop kits, and more! Best deal I saw was mini figs from Lego for under $1! Perfect time to get gifts for your toy bin. If you don't have one it's a good time to start!
A toy bin is a bin where you put brand new toys you get on great deals for birthday parties your kids birthday, for good grades, ect.

Next deal was on kids clothing! TCP or the children's place. They are having there big sale! You can get kids shirts for $4.99 on sale! Original price of $12.50. If you look in the clearance section you can find some other great deals. There are also some great deals on gloves, hats, and hair accessories for girls. There is free shipping and if you use the cupon code 3A2LHP24 it will get you an additional 30% off your purchase! The best part? You can get air miles on it as well! They also accept PayPal so you can shop online and have it taken off your bank account! Lots of online places are working with PayPal!

Old navy was my next online stop! They have an amazing sale in store on Boxing Day. Buy one get the seccond for $1. I love to hit that sale. But with my knee there is no way I could brave the crowds. The online sales are almost as good. They have a discount on the online store. Plus a online coupon for 30% off till Friday with the code onboxing
I was able to score some great sales. They have flip flops for $3, some girls shorts for between $5-8. They also carry plus size online. Though I find the tshirt material stretches quite a bit. Myself being a big girl I find that the in store XXL tanks fit me and I'm a 22/24 from other store. I found some great deals on plus size clothes, and it gives me a chance to try out old navy and see how I rate them. I was with the cupon code able to take more money off my purchase!

There are some other great places. If you have a tween girl, justice has a online sale, but it's like there other sales. I personally find there clothing over priced and have had a few pieces fall appart on me. Loads of glitter and sequins everywhere.
Penningtons and Addition Elle have sales online, but I have had issues with the quality of the clothes and them making the clothing smaller while keeping the same dress size on them.
I wish Target in canada would have online shopping. I just have to wait!
Wallmart canada has online and there are some good deals but do look around.
LondonDrugs has some good sales in store for grocery items. Keep an eye on them!
I haven't started to look at Toys R Us, but I will be checking them out to see how there sales online are. They also take PayPal!

I hope this helps you over the next few days!

Boxing Week?

Boxing Day used to be a great time to get deals. To go out and brave the mall and find things at a low price.

When your out shopping on the now Boxing WEEK sales there are a few things you need to watch out for.

1. The regular price. Many places will inflate the price leading up to Christmas, to only put it back to regular price for boxing week.

2. Clothing has a big mark up. After working in clothing retail I have learned not to pay original price for clothes EVER. Watch prices and look for good sales. Look for 25% off MIN! Good deal will be 50-75% off for a great deal.

3. End of season sales. This is a great time to stock up on Christmas items for NEXT YEAR. Wrapping paper, gift bags, fake Christmas trees. They all go on sale after Boxing Day. Do the same with clothes for yourself and your kids. At the end of season hit up the sale racks and buy in the next size for next year. Stick with basics, shirts, pants, shorts. Do it in basics that can be used year after year and not in wild colours or prints that will go out of style.

4. Set a budget and don't go over. Don't go in to debt for a good sale.

Sales will be going on for the whole week. Take your time. There will be some great deals the first day, but you can find some great deals online and the rest of the week.

The BC Deal Diva

Welcome!

Welcome to BC Deal Diva! The idea for this blog came about from my easy way to find great deals, save money, and have my 3 kids and myself look fantastic all while doing it on very little money!

I love to shop bargens. I love to find a deal. My favorite thing to do after shopping is to add up how much the original price was, and compair to what I paid.

Now the last few months has been rough. I recently became a single mother to 3 little kids. Ages 5,5,4! So I'm on a super tight fixed budget with debt! So now is the time to be even more of a Deal Diva!

I have 10 years in the retail industry, 3 years in the beauty industry (Hair and some makeup). I want to be able to show you the ins and outs and let you know how you will 95% of the time not pay sticker price again!

Welcome to BC Deal Diva! Most of my deals will be a combination of online and Local to BC Canada, most in the Vancouver BC area.

Thank you to my supportive father for everything you have done, including pushing me to do this. Yes I did this before the dump cake!
